lim x->2+ (x-3/x-2) Do u just plug in 2???

Matt Hickman said...

If you just plug in 2 you get -1/0 so that doesn't work. Whenever you have something approaching a constant over something approaching zero, it's either approaching infinity or negative infinity. To figure out which, you have to figure out the signs of the numerator and denominator just before the denominator reaches zero.

so all u have to find out is if its negative infinity or positive. what difference when the lim x->2-, x->2+

x->2+ means x is approaching 2 from the right (in other words, right before it actually gets to two it is slightly more than two). x->2- means that it is approaching two from slightly less than two.
